This is a project that started life as a breadboard with 7 segment displays, connected to a PC’s parallel port.

The three modes are: As a conventional Alarm Clock, Programmable by Day of the Week, or Programmable by Day of the Month.

The finished item uses a Vacuum Fluorescent Display (VFD), a rotary encoder and a PIC microntroller in a menu-driven application which can turn on your radio a programmable number of minutes before the alarm sounds.
